Curriculum
We follow the Government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which sets the standards for learning, development, and care for children from birth up to 5 years of age.
A unique child – every child is a competent leaner from birth who can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured
Positive Relationships – children learn to be strong and independent from a base of loving and secure relationships with parents and/or key person
Enabling Environments – the environment plays a key role in supporting and extending children’s development and learning
Learning and Development – children develop and learn in different ways and at different times; all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
Where can I find out about the areas of learning?
The PDF PowerPoint – curriculum – outlines each area of learning and how the nursery ensures your child is offered broad and balanced experiences. Examples of planned ‘focus activities’ and how you can develop each area at home is included in this document. There is also more detail on how we plan to ensure each unique child is catered to.
How do I know what they are learning each week?
We issue a weekly newsletter which informs parents the song of the week, book of the week and what activities their child will be learning. Your child’s key worker will also speak to you at drop off and pick up to explain what activities and learning will be happening each day.
